To install the Adobe Acrobat Reader, follow these steps:
- Go to
http://www.adobe.com/prodindex/acrobat/readstep.html. Register
with Adobe and download the executable appropriate for your operating
system. Click
here to
read the license.
- Unpack the software either from the DOS prompt
or from the Program Manager "File," "Run" menu, enter the following:
- [drive name chosen] :\ar16e30.exe (Windows
3.1) OR
- [drive name chosen] :\ar32e30.exe (Windows
NT).
(NOTE: Your Windows session must be
"enhanced" to install and run the Acrobat reader.)
- Install the software: Follow the prompts to
install the software. The installation process is controlled by the
Acrobat installer application. This installation will create a program
group named "Adobe Acrobat" and install the Acrobat reader and support
files in the [drive]:\acroread directory.
