- Installing Adobe Acrobat Reader -

To install the Adobe Acrobat Reader, follow these steps:

 

  1. Go to http://www.adobe.com/prodindex/acrobat/readstep.html. Register with Adobe and download the executable appropriate for your operating system. Click here to read the license.

 

  1. Unpack the software either from the DOS prompt or from the Program Manager "File," "Run" menu, enter the following:
    • [drive name chosen] :\ar16e30.exe (Windows 3.1) OR
    • [drive name chosen] :\ar32e30.exe (Windows NT).

(NOTE: Your Windows session must be "enhanced" to install and run the Acrobat reader.)

 

  1. Install the software: Follow the prompts to install the software. The installation process is controlled by the Acrobat installer application. This installation will create a program group named "Adobe Acrobat" and install the Acrobat reader and support files in the [drive]:\acroread directory.
