Department of Transportation Services - University of Maryland

The Department of Transportation Services provides transportation to New York City for the Thanksgving, Winter and Spring breaks. Our bus(es) departs from the Stamp Student Union on campus and drops off passengers at Port Authority in New York City between 8th and 9th avenues on 42nd Street. For return trips, our bus(es) will pick up from this area (between 8th and 9th avenues on 42nd Street) and return to campus.

PLEASE NOTE: This trip will make one stop in Metropark, NJ to drop off and pick up passengers.

Seating is usually very limited particularly for the Thanksgiving trip. It is advised that you register as soon as possible after registration begins. Registration for the Winter trip will begin Tuesday, November 27, and will be advertised on our Web site and electronically through listservs. Keep checking the Web site's front page for the registration announcement.

HOW DO I REGISTER?
To register, the passenger must come into our office at Regents Drive Garage to fill out a registration form and pay for the trip at the same time. The cost is $25 one-way, and $40 round-trip. Payment can be made in the forms of cash, credit card or can be posted to your student account. Please note: If you make changes or cancel after the initial registration, all refunds will be posted to your student account. No credit card or cash refunds will be made.

NOTE: Please note this is only transportation from and to campus. Passengers are responsible for their own travel arrangements upon reaching the destination point. If this trip conflicts with student schedules, bus transportation to New York City is also provided through Greyhound Lines and New Century Travel among others.
