Carpools can reduce the cost of parking permit fees by as much as 75%! The more participants in your carpool, the greater the savings. For carpool info visit www.umd.edu/dcp or call the Department of Transportation Services at 301-314-4537.

Commuter Student Carpool Program

Need to find other students interested in carpooling? At the time of your carpool registration you can add your name to a database that maintains information about student participants. E-mail addresses will be available to enable interested students to contact one another.

Students who have formed a carpool must apply at the Department of Transportation Services in Regents Drive Garage for the Carpool Permit. Choose to park in either the Stadium Drive Garage or the Paint Branch Cashier Attended area.

Faculty/Staff Carpool Program

A group of two or more faculty and / or staff may form a carpool. First, locate faculty and staff who are interested in forming a carpool. Then select a person who will be responsible for registering and paying for a carpool permit.

Participants who, on occasion need to drive and park their own vehicle on campus may purchase, at the visitor’s rate, a one-day parking permit for either lot K, P, or Z.

Regional Carpool Connections

If you are unaware of other University employees who live near you but you are still interested in carpooling with others from your neighborhood who may work in the College Park vicinity, contact Commuter Connections at 1-800-745-RIDE or online at www.commuterconnection.org.
