General Men's Basketball Parking Info

Welcome to the 2017-2018 basketball season. Select from the tabs to the left to find the game day information most relevant to you. Game day parking permits must be purchased online before you arrive on campus. SDG permits can be bought online or paid for upon arrival to the garage. You may also park in Lot 1 for free and walk or take the Quickbus.

Parking Regulations

Periodically, the University of Maryland basketball team will play at the XFINITY Center, which will result in parking modifications. This year, nineteen home games are scheduled.

PARKING REGULATIONS:

XFINITY Lots that are impacted by Men’s Home Basketball Games are 4b, 4j, 6, 9b, 9c, 11b, FF, NN, P1, P2, UU, XX1, Stadium Drive Garage and Regents Drive Garage. These lots are closed four hours prior to tipoff and require a game day permit or Faculty/Staff permit to enter. 

Please note that parking restrictions can differ for each home game.

NON-CONFERENCE GAMES

Those parked in lots 4, 6, 9, 11 four hours prior to tipoff are NOT required to move their vehicles. Registrants in these lots attempting to park within four hours before until one hour after tipoff will be redirected to Lot 1.

CONFERENCE GAMES

Commuter Students

Those parked in lots 4, 6, 9, 11 MUST move their vehicles three hours prior to tipoff. Vehicles that are not relocated will be cited and relocated. Parking will be available to registrants in Lot 1. Faculty and Staff are not required to relocate. Relocated vehicles will be towed to lot NN behind the Chesapeake Building.

Resident Students

Resident permit holders parked in lots 6, and 11 are not required to move for home Men’s games. The lots are still restricted 4 hours prior to the start of each game and registrants in these lots attempting to park within four hours before until one hour after tipoff will be redirected to Lot 1. Faculty and Staff are not required to relocate. Lot 5 Residents may continue to park during Men’s Basketball games.

SDG Permit Holders

Student SDG permit holders are not required to move for home Men’s games. The lots are still restricted 4 hours prior to the start of each game and registrants in these lots attempting to park within four hours before until one hour after tipoff will be redirected to Lot 1. Faculty and Staff may continue to access the lot. Please show Fac/Staff ID to lot attendants.

IMPORTANT: While basketball games cause substantial changes to parking arrangements, bear in mind that other athletic events may also cause changes. Refer to the athletic calendar for game schedules.

Quickbus

All Quickbus routes are free and open to the public. Passengers may transport food and drinks (alcohol must be in sealed, unopened containers) on the Quickbus. Be advised that riders must comply with the Shuttle-UM Regulations. Please review the clearbag policy for items allowed into Xfinity Center.

We are excited to host attendees for the 2017-2018 Terps basketball season. If you have reviewed this section of the DOTS website and need additional assistance email transportation@umd.edu. Anyone planning to park on campus can pre-purchase a parking permit, purchase parking at Regents Drive Garage upon arrival or park for free in Lot 1.

Please note that campus codes prohibit grilling in parking garages. For additional safety information, vist the UMPD website.
