If you think your bike was stolen, call the Department of Public Safety immediately at (301) 405-3555. Bikes that are locked properly with a u-lock are much less attractive targets for bike thieves.
If you think your bike was impounded for improper parking, appearing abandoned or some other reason, call the Department of Transportation at (301) 314-PARK and check the impounded bikes database at: https://www.parking.umd.edu/bike.
more »Bring proof of ownership and your UID or other ID to our Regents Drive Garage Office. You will also need to pay a $10 impound fee.
Do you no longer need or want your bike? Don’t clog up the racks! Call us and we will take your bike.
Any salvageable abandoned or relinquished bikes will be sold at auction. Auctions will be announced on the BikeUMD Facebook page.
Security and safety awareness!
The first thing you can do to protect your bike against theft is to buy a quality lock. U-locks and other safety gear can be purchased at the DOTS office.
