D.C. Evening Bike Tours

Join bikeUMD on an urban adventure in D.C. as we explore the nation’s capital from the best possible vantage point: the seat of our bicycles. We’ll spend the evening exploring the national monuments by moonlight. Bicycle and helmet rental are included in price of the trip. Trip will start at the Campus Bike Shop in Cole Field House and depart for D.C. at 6 p.m.. Transportation is provided.
$20/person – space is limited to 8 riders.

bikeUMD offers classes in cycling, commuting, and maintenance through a collaboration with Outdoor Recreation Services.

Learn to Ride

Learn to bike classes are offered on a one-on-one basis. Email for more information and to check availability.

Biking 101

Traffic Skills 101 is a courses developed by the League of American Bicyclists (LAB) and is taught by a League Certified Instructor. This class gives cyclists the confidence they need to ride safely and legally in traffic or on the trail. Students can expect to learn how to conduct bicycle safety checks, fix a flat, on-bike skills and crash avoidance techniques. This is a non-credit course that will be offered in the 2nd Spring 8 week session. Email for more information.

Custom clinics are by appointment only. Make your reservation with the Outdoor Recreation Center (ORC) Rental Desk, 301.226.4453.

  bikeUMD has been charged with the implementation of the biking elements of the Facilities Master Plan 2011-2030 update.

Bike Count

bikeUMD conducts a bike count as part of the bicycle program evaluation process. Bicycles are manually counted at several locations around campus.
