bikeUMD offers classes in cycling, commuting, and maintenance through a collaboration with Outdoor Recreation Services.

Traffic Skills 101 is a courses developed by the League of American Bicyclists (LAB) and is taught by a League Certified Instructor. This class gives cyclists the confidence they need to ride safely and legally in traffic or on the trail. Students can expect to learn how to conduct bicycle safety checks, fix a flat, on-bike skills and crash avoidance techniques. This is a non-credit course that will be offered in the 2nd Spring 8 week session. Email bike@umd.edu for more information.

Bike Count
bikeUMD conducts a bike count as part of the bicycle program evaluation process. Bicycles are manually counted at several locations around campus.

UMD Bicycle Advisory Group (BAG)
The Bicycle Advisory Group (BAG) offers advice to bikeUMD on bicycle related projects and events. The group meets three to four times a year. The group has members from many different departments and organizations on and off campus. In the past, the group has reviewed the Campus Bicycle Study and offered recommendations on bicycle related projects. Beverly Malone is the chair of this group and can be reached at bmalone@umd.edu.
