The Department of Transportation Services continues to be committed to the development of both the students and full-time employees that work for us. Many of our student employees go on to work full-time for us after graduation. This year alone we hired a student employee full-time into our IT department and our Shuttle Management department.
Student Drivers (continuously hiring)
DOTS Shuttle-UM drivers provide safe, dependable, on-time transportation to University of Maryland students, faculty, and staff. The position involves paid training, flexible hours, and advancement opportunities. Drivers earn $9.25/hr during training, which increases to $12.50/hr after completion of training and CDL licensing.

Student Graphic Design Assistant
Job Type/Requirements: $11.00/hr; Part time; Undergraduate : Preferably enrolled or looking to apply to Maryland's Graphic Design program.
Under the direction of the Graphics Coordinator, the Graphic Design Student assists in creating design solutions that will aid the effective dissemination of departmental information and marketing strategies. The Graphic Design Student will conceptualize designs and develop a wide range of print and web-based communication materials.
Preferred but not required: Enrolled in & or looking to apply to Maryland's Graphic Design program.
This position also assists the Marketing Assistants in representing the department at University-sponsored events when needed as well as assisting with the Shuttle UM Advertising program.
This position pays $11.00/hr and requires employment during the summer and a weekly commitment of 10–15 hours to be worked during standard office hours (M-F, 9:00 – 5:00). Occasional weekend work required.

Student Special Events
Job Type/Requirements: $11.50 shift differential; Part time; Undergraduate Students only
The Student Special Events position is a very hands-on job that is perfect for outgoing and friendly students who want a position that offers more than just working behind a desk. This position requires a minimum of 10 regularly scheduled hours per week during the semester (Monday-Friday between the hours of 7 a.m. – 10:30 p.m.). Available to work on call some evenings and weekends totaling approximately 10 hours per week. Limited Winter/Summer term hours available as needed. Must work all MD home football games and men’s home basketball games.
