Intersemester Service and Labor Day
Summer shuttle service will continue through August 28th. Summer evening shuttle service will continue through August 21st and Intersemester evening service will begin August 22nd. Regular semester evening services will begin on August 28th and regular semester commuter service will begin on August 31st. Note: There will be no shuttle service in operation on Monday, Sept. 7th for the Labor Day holiday.

Note: Shuttle 121 Route 1 Corridor has been discontinued effective August 28, 2009.

 Where does the evening service go?

  • Orange Routeservices the Adele H. Stamp Union, Cole Student Activities Building, Lot 1, North Campus, Regents Drive Garage, Mitchell Building, Memorial Chapel, Montgomery Hall, FedEx Office, downtown College Park, and Knox Road residences.
  •  Purple Routeservices the Courtyards at the University of Maryland, Lots 4, 9, and 11, Comcast Center, Regents Drive Garage, FedEx Offices, Knox Road residences, downtown College Park, Montgomery Hall, Memorial Chapel, and the Mitchell Building.
  •  Blue Route services Hartwick Road, Knox Road, University View, University Club Apartments, Parkside Apartments, FedEx Offices, Adele H. Stamp Student Union, and downtown College Park.
  •  Gold Route services Graduate Hills, Graduate Gardens, Adele H. Stamp Union, Regents Drive Garage, Comcast Center, Cole Field House, A. V. Williams, Engineering, Mitchell Building, Memorial Chapel, Montgomery Hall, Guilford Drive, Catholic Student Center, LDS Institute of Religion, Hillel, Van Munching Hall, North Hill, and South Campus Commons.
  •  Green Route services Adele H. Stamp Union, Ritchie Coliseum, Fraternity Row and the Graham Cracker District, Knox Road, Guilford Drive, Leonardtown Community Center, and the Department of Public Safety, and downtown College Park.
  •  Night College Park Metro Stationservices the Adele H. Stamp Union and Math Building, College Park Metro Station (Green Line) and Paint Branch Parkway. 

 

The Orange, Purple, Blue, Green and Gold Routes operate from 5:30 p.m. until approximately 3:30 a.m., seven nights a week during the fall and spring semesters.  The Night College Park Metro Station route operates from 8:00 pm until 1:00 am, Sunday through Thursday, and from 8:00 pm until 4:00 am, Friday and Saturday.   

NITE Ride (Night Intra-Campus Transit Express) is a curb-to-curb, service offered when the evening service routes are no longer in service or if your pick-up or destination is not on an evening service route.  The points on campus which are serviced by NITE Ride when the evening service routes are in service are: Lot 6, Lot 2g, Lot 1d and the intersection of Norwich and Rhode Island avenues. NITE Ride operates seven nights a week from 5:30 P.M. to 7:30 AM, when the University is open.  Call 301-314-NITE (x46483) to request a ride.

NOTE: Terp Taxi service has been discontinued.

 Please Note:  During University observed holidays, the summer and winter sessions, spring break, and between semesters, the above services may be modified.  Please visit www.transportation.umd.edu to verify the availability of service during these times.

Campus Connections
A Campus Connections Booklet will be available during the first week of classes to all students, faculty, staff, and visitors. This booklet provides a general overview of the services offered by the Department of Transportation Services. It will also be available online as a PDF by the end of August.
