How to Apply
Applying for campus parking as a freshman resident student is a multi-step process.
1. You must log in to your Terpmail account to apply for parking. If you have not set up your Terpmail account yet, directions can be found here.
2. You will need the endorsement of your doctor, supervisor/employer, or other non-UMD student to submit with your request. Contact your doctor, supervisor/employer, etc. to complete the PDF(s) (see Supporting Documents) that applies to your situation.
3. Submit the online freshman parking request application here, including the associated PDF from your doctor, supervisor, etc.
For best consideration, submit your application by July 28, 2019. A group of current UMD students will evaluate your request, and you will be notified by DOTS if you will or will not be eligible to register for parking. Please be aware that submitting this online application does not guarantee parking.
To ensure that students are given fair consideration through this process, we ask that you include supporting documents for review by DOTS with your application. You must include at least one of the DOTS PDFs below with your application. Applications that do not include at least one of these PDFs will not be considered.
Personal Medical: For students who need access to personal transportation to travel to their medical appointments. Requires health care provider signature.
Medical Caretaker: For students who need access to personal transportation to provide or facilitate access to medical care or for an immediate relative. Requires health care provider signature.
Employment/Internship: For students who need access to personal transportation to travel to a job or internship. Requires employer/supervisor signature.
Other Reasons: For students who need access to personal transportation for non-medical or employment reasons. Requires support from a non-UMD student.
